A single cable singlemode fibre bi-directional hybrid transmission system capable of extending 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals, with or without embedded audio signals up to 10km via fibre or 130m via copper. Video I/O connection is via HD-SDI connector (co-axial BNC), and Fibre I/O connection is via duplex LC connector. A DVI connector, which is an output connector only, can be used to allow display/monitoring of an HD-SDI signal on a low cost PC monitor. This signal can be input to the unit via the co-axial HD-SDI input or via the LC fibre input. There are additionally 6 RCA (phono) connectors, which are output connectors used to monitor up to 6 channels of embedded audio. Both Tx and Rx units use stand alone PSU’s, which are connected via power jack style connectors.
The BMD HD Link system is capable of passing regular SMPTE signals of up to 1920 x 1080p resolution @ 60Hz without compression or frame dropping, and uses CWDM technology to achieve this. Signals inputted to the unit via co-axial input are sent to the co-axial output and the fibre output simultaneously and vice versa. The input signal also appears on the DVI connector irrespective of which physical input connector is used. Inputs are auto detecting. The units are supplied as a Tx/Rx set complete with PSU’s.
